LOS ANGELES, Calif. --- UC Irvine women's soccer traveled into the home of the defending National Champions and stifled them to a scoreless draw Friday afternoon in McAlister Soccer Stadium.

Both sides put up seven shots each on the afternoon, but the Anteater defense held USC to one shot on goal and no corner kicks. UCI turned three shots on goal led by a pair from freshman
Sydney Carr.

Carr had the game's best chance for a goal in the 71st minute getting on the end of a cross and heading it back to the far post just high skipping it off the crossbar.

Maria Magaña and
Madi Puliafico split the match in net with Magaña snagging the only save and Puliafico making her Anteater debut. A flurry of 'Eaters made their debuts joining Puliafico including
Sydney Carr,
Claire Grouwinkel,
Serena Camacho,
Sara Young,
Elizabeth Rivera,
Erica Mendoza,
Lauren McKimmey, and
Shelby Petty.
